Studies, Work, and Real Experience in One Place
In one space, studies, work, and real-life experience came together: visitors interacted directly with employers and career consultants, learned about KU study programs, took part in practical CV and job interview workshops, and attended presentations on future skills, technologies, and regional labor market trends. Individual consultations also received much attention — young people were interested both in specific professions and broader career paths.
“We came to explore and make it easier to decide what is in demand and promising in the job market. The event’s presentations are also valuable,” said Arvydas, an 11th-grade student from Klaipėda.
“It’s great that we don’t have to go to Vilnius or Kaunas — there’s so much choice here in our region, both for studies and work,” added Elinga, an 11th-grade student from Šilutė.
Nearly 100 Employers
Almost 100 employers took part in the networking fair — from large industrial companies to international corporations, from major medical institutions to public health offices, from social projects to government institutions.
“We participated last year and returned this year. It’s great to see the event growing and moving into an arena. The interest in internships and job opportunities is huge,” emphasized Ingrida, HR Manager at NEO Group.
Company representatives not only sought interns and employees but also offered experiential presentations — creative tasks, technology demonstrations, educational activities, and surprising interactive elements.
“The most important thing is mutual benefit: we get to know the emerging market and young people, hear their expectations, and they learn about fields, positions, and prospects,” said Liveta, a representative of RNDV Group.
“Being based in Kaunas or Vilnius, we can’t reach some of the people who later become our employees. Events like this are very important,” said Milda, a representative of Northway Medical Centers, highlighting the event’s strong regional significance.
Specialists from the Lithuanian Agency of Non-formal Education (LINEŠA) offered practical advice to those seeking job opportunities — on how to confidently “start a conversation” with companies and turn interviews into career plans.
“We worked with checklists, encouraged participants to ask questions and approach employer stands — we saw how young people became braver and took their first steps toward making decisions,” said Ina Griazina, Head of the Career Education Department at LINEŠA.
Presentations and Discussions
The event featured presentations for school students and university students, sessions for teachers, and open discussions with representatives from businesses and non-governmental organizations. The program was developed in collaboration with career specialists, the education community, and employers.
The section dedicated to teachers focused on leadership, generational differences, and teaching methods adapted to modern students. It also discussed how artificial intelligence is changing learning and how to update teaching styles and curricula so that students truly learn rather than seek shortcuts.
“There’s definitely a lack of targeted AI training in schools — the presentations are very valuable, as is the entire event,” said Audronė Stasiulienė, an art teacher and career specialist at Vydūnas Gymnasium in Šilutė.
“I follow education developments quite a lot myself, but it’s always worth refreshing and strengthening knowledge. A wonderful event,” added Jūratė Jokubaitienė, a career specialist at Pamarys Progymnasium in Šilutė.
Students and job seekers listened to inspiring career stories, received advice on taking their first steps in the labor market, career planning, and the courage to change direction. They also learned about “future team” competencies, critically examined the influencer path, and discovered alternative professions that are often more interesting and better paid.
In the discussion area, topics included civic engagement, values, and passion that turns into work. The discussions were moderated and the event hosted by TV and event presenter Paulius Vaitiekūnas.
