KU Strengthened Ties with University Leaders at the Global Education Summit

From September 29 to October 1, the 5th Global Education Summit 2025 was held in India, with Klaipeda University (KU) represented by Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Dr. Laura Šaltytė-Vaisiauskė.

The prestigious event, hosted by Chandigarh University, brought together academic leaders from around the world: 75 representatives from 60 higher education institutions across 35 countries. This year’s summit theme was “Global Collaborations for Shaping the Future of Higher Education: Creating AI-Empowered, Technology-Deepening, Inclusive and Sustainable Nations”. Discussions focused on how universities can adapt to a rapidly changing world, emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence, inclusivity, and sustainability.

On the first day of the summit, KU Vice-Rector Dr. Šaltytė-Vaisiauskė met with Chandigarh University leaders, including Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor and eminent educationist Prof. Dr. R. S. Bawa, Executive Director for International Affairs Prof. Dr. Rajan Sharma, and Senior Managing Director Deepinder Singh Sandhu, to explore future collaboration opportunities. KU and Chandigarh University already share a partnership: in 2023, KU researcher Dr. Loreta Kelpšaitė-Rimkienė visited Chandigarh University to strengthen academic cooperation.

On the second day of the forum, Dr. Šaltytė-Vaisiauskė joined other university leaders in welcoming guests from 35 countries as an honorary guest. Later, she also participated in and chaired the discussion session “Technology and Innovation for a Safe, Secure, and Equitable Future for All”.
