This agreement marks a new phase of collaboration between the two largest higher education institutions in Klaipėda. KU and KVK have agreed to work together in training highly qualified specialists, conducting applied scientific research, and engaging in experimental development.
“Modern higher education requires synergy, not isolation. A partnership with Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences is not only a rational step toward cooperation but also a clear strategic choice. Only by acting together can we create a high value-added ecosystem for science and studies that strengthens the region and benefits the entire country,” notes KU Rector Prof. Dr. Artūras Razbadauskas.
The agreement includes collaboration in the preparation and defense of final theses, the organization of integrative student activities, joint projects, academic staff development, and lifelong learning initiatives.
“Klaipėda is a strong regional education center, and our institutions are central pillars of this system. Cooperation between the city’s largest higher education institutions is a natural step toward sustainable development in higher education, high-quality study content, and shared responsibility for the future of young people. Only through joint efforts can we ensure that Western Lithuania remains an attractive place to study, work, and live,” says KVK Director Dr. Remigijus Kinderis.
The agreement is signed for a five-year period, with the possibility of extension. It is more than a formal document - it is a long-term cooperation platform based on concrete actions, individual projects, and continuous inter-institutional dialogue.
The cooperation is strongly supported by the councils of both institutions and their chairmen, who see the strategic value of this agreement. According to KU Council Chairman Arnoldas Šileika and KVK Council Chairman Darius Levickis, this agreement lays a solid foundation for the development of a sustainable higher education model - one that preserves the identity of each institution while working toward shared goals: competitive studies, effective application of knowledge, and regional growth.
